This is really nerdy butttttt... As a kid there was a periodical magazine called The Ancestral Trail. From memory it was monthly. Each month there was a new "chapter" in an epic, B-grade, swords, sorcery and monsters narrative, with some of the most gorgeous art that really appealed to my fantasy-obsessed mind as a kid. Stuff like this: The story was so ridiculously B-grade in hindsight, but I really looked forward to each issue, each month, and was so sad when the magazine finally went away. Over the years I lost the magazines too, so largely forgot about the whole thing. But something twigged my memory the other day, and on a whim I started to Google around, and surprise! The stories had been compiled (and, from my very vague memories of those original magazines, expanded on to compensate for the lack of art) into a series of three novels. So naturally I grabbed one on my Kindle and boy am I having a nostalgic rush at the moment. It's not great writing, but it is great memories <_<. I don't suppose anyone else out there remembers this? I believe that it wasn't ever released in America, so this is a European/ Australia/ New Zealand only thing. I think.
